Civi Coalition Summit 2026

May 20 • Genesee Valley BOCES • LeRoy, NY

Join educators and civic leaders from across the region for our first annual Civi Coalition Summit, a day dedicated to strengthening civic education and bridging divides in our schools and communities.

In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, this gathering will explore the state of civic learning in classrooms and beyond. Participants will:

  • Engage with renowned speakers from higher education and the civic sector, including Dr. Jamie Druckman (University of Rochester), Dr. Jeffrey Koch (SUNY Geneseo), and Dr. Tim Redmond (Williamsville East CSD).
  • Participate in political bridging activities designed to model and practice constructive dialogue.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators on best practices for implementing bridging strategies in school communities.
  • Learn from student voices, as past Civi Award winners share their experiences and insights.

Whether you are already part of the Civi Coalition or new to our work, the summit offers an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and take actionable steps toward cultivating civic readiness. Social studies educators are especially encouraged to attend, and those interested are invited to join the Coalition to continue the conversation beyond the summit.
